The Kings Theatre is a beautiful nationally recognised Grade II* listed theatre built in 1907 by the renowned theatre architect, Frank Matcham. It is one of the finest examples of an Edwardian playhouse in the country.

We look forward to you coming! The following list has local information and a variety of accommodation. Please note that owners request to be on the list and are not checked by the theatre. Shopping

Albert Road: The Kings Theatre is located on Albert Road which is full of independent coffee shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a Co-op, Tesco Express and Sainsbury Local.

Palmerston Road: High street shops, John Lewis, Debenhams, Boots, WH Smith etc, and banks. 10 minute walk from Stage Door. PO5 3QG

Gun Wharf Quays: great outlet shopping mall with bars and restaurants. Discount card available from House Manager.

Nearest supermarkets: ASDA (PO1 1SL), Tesco Extra (PO4 8FD), Lidl (PO4 0AN), Waitrose (PO5 2EJ)

Transport

Taxis: Taxis are very reasonable – local firms are Aqua Cars 02392 654321 and City Wide 023 9283 3333

Stations: Portsmouth and Southsea, and Fratton train stations are a 20-minute walk away.

Car: Parking spaces are limited. There is residential street parking and you can park in Albert Road after 6pm.

Bus: There is a bus stop outside the theatre. Bus services that pass through Albert Road are 2, 19 & 19a. The timetable is on t First Group website.

Walk-in Centre: St Marys NHS Treatment Centre, Milton Road, Portsmouth PO3 6DW
