Kings Youth Theatre

The Kings Youth Theatre is a perfect place for any young aspiring theatre performer.

Launched in April 2010, with just a handful of students, our Kings Youth Theatre now has 12 teaching groups. We have something for each age-range. Fun-packed Saturday classes (term-time only) are specifically tailored to each age group, exploring the performing arts through games, character improvisation, script work and performance.  Launching in 2019 we also have some new drop-in classes and a theatre tots class in connection with the theatre’s Toddler Tours.

As well as our weekly classes, we aim to offer performance opportunities throughout the year in a number of venues around Portsmouth including on stage here at the Kings Theatre.

Every summer, to round off the year of teaching we produce a large scale musical involving the whole of the youth theatre and each year our standards soar.
