Cinderella Cast Announcements

Cinderella Pantomime Cast July 2018The Kings Theatre is pleased to announce that the multi-talented Jake Quickenden WINNER of 2018 ITV’s Dancing on Ice and runner-up in ITV’s the X-Factor, will be playing the Handsome Prince in this year’s must-see pantomime Cinderella from Tuesday 11 December 2018.

Jake made his TV debut in X-Factor 2012 where he made a huge impact on audience’s and judges alike, having got through the judges houses he didn’t make the live shows but his second chance came in 2014 when he gave it another shot and got through to the live shows, Gary Barlow loved his voice and his image. Hot off the tails of the X Factor Jake was invited to appear in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Jake went on to release his first EP titled ‘I Want You’ followed up by his own live tour. Jake won audiences hearts again earlier this year when he went onto win ITV’s Dancing on Ice after an intense final showdown. The Kings is hugely excited to welcome him back to the stage.

Joining Jake as his loyal best friend Dandini, is Marcus Patrick, who first appeared on our screens in as Ben in Hollyoaks, he has continued with lots of TV and acting roles but he is most loved here as he has trodden the boards of the Kings Theatre stage many times.

Cinderella would not be complete without a wicked stepmother and local star Jack Edwards can be very wicked. Last year he stole the show as Sara Spoilit with his audience rapport, spontaneity and a cheeky sense of fun, audiences love him as much as we do. Inheriting their mother’s beauty and her undeniable charm, the ugly sisters take being mean to new heights. This is the first time that Paul Lawrence-Thomas and Harry Howle have played ugly sister as a duo but cannot wait to entertain Portsmouth audiences

Holding the whole show together will be the naughty but charming Buttons played by Simon Grant, this is Simons second appearance at the Kings Theatre. He started his career alongside Fearne Cotton presenting Saturdays Top of the Pops. He then went onto join the on-air team presiding over the CBBC Broom Cupboard.

It’s an age old tradition to come to the Kings Theatre over the Christmas period for panto, it is renowned for putting on a fabulous show. Thousands of people from across the regions flock to the theatre during December and this year will be no different.

We may well be experiencing a heatwave but its only 170 days until Christmas, so order your pumpkins and dust off those glass slippers because, with your help, Cinderella will go to the ball!
