The Kings Theatre launch ‘Creative Minds’

The Kings Theatre is delighted to announce that this year it will be partnering with Remind (Dementia support in Portsmouth) to present a project delivering a series of workshops called Creative Minds supported by the Big Lottery Fund.

“We are very excited about working with the Kings Theatre on this project and cannot wait to be involved in all their upcoming events,” said Sarita Chavda – Remind Manager.

The workshops are open to everyone living with dementia and are all dementia friendly.

The workshops start in April and will initially run for six months, they will be held at the Kings Theatre, but will also reach out to the local community. Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in drama, music, and dance with fabulous local community storyteller and musician, Janet Ayers.

Rachel Goodall, the Community Learning & Engagement Officer at the Kings Theatre is working with many organisations to create an impact in the city including the Dementia Action Alliance and the Alzheimer’s Society.

“I am really looking forward to this project because it’s about being fun and being creative and making new friends. I would encourage anyone to come along as it is never too late to learn new skills” said Rachel Goodall

Throughout the year there will also be ‘Relaxed Performances’ for those living with dementia, please look at our website for further announcements.
