Tucked away in a secret location at the Kings Theatre is the Theatre’s Archives.

Filing cabinets are full of over 100 years of our theatre history. Programmes, leaflets, posters, memorabilia and reminisces fill the drawers. Our team of volunteer archivists are always hard at work cataloguing these, creating databases and providing interesting material for display in the theatre’s foyers.

If you are a researcher in need of information please contact

The archives are currently not open to the public, but as part of The Big Project we have aspirations to make them more accessible.

How you can help

Do you have any old programmes, tickets, and merchandise from the Kings Theatre?
Please do consider donating them to our archives.

Do you have any archival training or work experience? Do you have a fewhours to spare?
Then consider becoming part of our volunteer team.

Would you like to help support our archive project financially?
We are seeking funds for our ongoing mission to buy items for our collection that turn up in antique shops or auction sites. Any contributions welcomed.

Finally, we are currently seeking funding for our scanning and cataloguing project, if you would like to support this do get in touch.
